An annual Dayton event since 1956, the Junior League of Dayton's
Town Hall Lecture Series is unique. The Series has brought some
of the world's finest speakers to the community, including actors,
politicians, authors, educators, and sports figures. Notable
past speakers include former first ladies Eleanor Roosevelt
and Barbara Bush; comediennes Phyllis Diller and Joan Rivers;
actors Vincent Price, Agnes Morehead, Ray Bolger, Lynn Redgrave,
Henry Winkler, Danny Glover and Patricia Neal; authors Mary
Higgins Clark, Erma and Pat Conroy; health expert Dr. Art Ulene,
Olympic figure skater Peggy Fleming, travel expert Arthur Frommer
and television personalities; Richard Simmons, Regis Philbin,
and Spencer Christian.
Intended to inspire and motivate attendees, the Series provides
an intimate forum for learning important life lessons and
gaining new perspectives. At the same time, the Town Hall
Lecture Series has raised more than $1.8 million to support
the Junior League of Dayton's community programs.
