Description:
The DPO Chamber Choir joins Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra
Music Director Neal Gittleman and the DPO Chamber Orchestra
in a presentation of Bach’s Orchestral Suite No.
3, lighter fare than his normally more rigorous, sacred,
or fugal scores. Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for
Four Violins, in which the composer borrows heavily
from Corelli and Albinoni, follows. Then, the orchestra
switches gears to perform 8 Pieces for String Orchestra
by 20th-century German composer Paul Hindemith, then
closes with Bach’s musical offering of thanksgiving,
the Cantata No. 29.
